Five Hokies named to first team

FERRUM, Va. (vasidsports.com) – Virginia Tech’s Pete Yates and Kevin Dresser have been named Wrestler and Coach the Year, respectively, headlining the 2013 VaSID All-State Wrestling Team. Additionally, University of Virginia’s Gorge DiCamillo earned Rookie of the year honors.

Yates posted an All-America finish at this year’s NCAA Division I championships in the 165-pound weight class, advancing to the semifinals before finishing fourth. Yates won the Atlantic Coach Conference title and closed out his senior year with a 34-3 record, including five pins.

Dresser led the Hokies to the 2013 ACC title.
