2011-12: An NCAA All-American who finished fifth at the NCAA Championships … The 2012 ACC champion at 165 pounds, earning tournament most outstanding wrestler honors … 2012 All-ACC … Finished the season with a mark of 28-7 overall, 7-4 in duals … Went 2-1 in the ACC … Recorded six major decisions, three technical falls and five pins on the season … Fastest pin came at the NCAA Championships, coming in just 11 seconds over James Brundage of Rider … Won the 165-pound class at the Hokie Open … Defeated Derek Garcia of Ohio State 9-3 in a dual meet … Went 4-1 at the Penn State Open to finish third … Had a strong showing at the Midlands, placing second after going 4-0 against NCAA competition … Upset top-seeded and second-ranked John Asper of Maryland, 6-4 in sudden victory, to claim his first ACC title … Beat second-seeded Shane Onufer of Wyoming 10-3 to claim All-America honors … Downed Asper once again, this time 13-7, to pick up fifth place at the NCAAs … Lost his first match of the tournament, but battled back to go 6-2.

2010-11: Qualified for the NCAA Championships after placing second at the ACC Championships … Upset No. 11 seed Aaron Janssen of Iowa in the first round … Finished the season with a 28-10 overall record … Went 4-0 in ACC dual meets and 17-7 in all dual matches … Started the season at 157 pounds, but bumped up after having weight issues … Won the Hokie Open at 157 pounds … Had seven major decisions, four technical falls and one pin … Picked up 63 team points in dual matches.

2009-10: Was having another solid year until a knee injury at the Southern Scuffle ended his season … Qualified for a medical hardship waiver … Went 10-6 overall, 5-2 in dual matches … Had two technical falls and two pins … Placed second at the Navy Classic and eighth at the Las Vegas Invitational … Won his first three matches at the Scuffle wrestling unattached but suffered an injury in the last one and had to pull out of the tournament.

2008-09: Qualified for his first NCAA Tournament as a wild card after not placing at the ACC Tournament … Suffered a sprained knee in the semifinals and had to default his next match in the tournament … Re-injured the knee in practice the day before the NCAA Championships and had to be pulled from the meet … A first-team all-state selection at 149 pounds, as voted on by the state’s sports information directors … Went 31-8 overall, including 17-0 in dual meets and 5-0 in ACC matches … Had five major decisions, six technical falls and five pins … Scored 69 points for the team in dual matches … Was one of four true freshmen in the starting lineup … Placed third at the Navy Classic, eighth at the Las Vegas Invitational and sixth at the Southern Scuffle … Beat then-No. 9 Jake Patacsil of Purdue, 9-4, and pinned 14th-seeded Mark Powell of Pittsburgh at the Las Vegas Invite … Beat No. 8 Steve Brown of Central Michigan, 3-2, in a dual meet … Followed that up with a win over No. 15 Nick Stabile of North Carolina in a dual meet.

High School: Lettered four times for Coach Tim Owens at Salem High … Ranked No. 5 in the nation at 145 pounds in InterMat’s final rankings … The Georgia State Wrestler of the Year his senior season … Compiled a 161-1 record in his career and was a three-time state champion … Also took runner-up honors once … Won the Beast of the East Tournament in Delaware … Was one of the state winners of the 2008 Dave Schultz High School Excellence award.
