BLACKSBURG (hokiesports.com) - The seventh-ranked Virginia Tech wrestling team will head west to Corvallis, Ore., for the Sub-Regionals of the NWCA National Duals this weekend, hosted by Oregon State University. Tech (14-2) will open with No. 24 Oklahoma Sunday at 4 p.m. Eastern (1 p.m. local) and will then wrestle the winner or loser of the No. 9 Oregon State/No. 19 Michigan match right after. All matches Sunday will be held inside Gill Coliseum.

This Weekend’s Headlines
• Virginia Tech, ranked seventh in the country, will take its 11-match winning streak out west for the Corvallis Sub-Regional of the NWCA National Duals, hosted by Oregon State.
• Three other teams will converge upon Gill Coliseum for the event - No. 9 Oregon State, No. 19 Michigan and No. 25 Oklahoma.
• Tech competed in the NWCA National Duals last year in Ames, Iowa, beating Northern Iowa 20-17 before falling to No. 5 Iowa 31-3.
• This will be the farthest west Tech has ever traveled for a dual meet and the first time ever wrestling in the state of Oregon. The previous farthest west Tech traveled for a dual meet was Norman, Okla., last year to take on the Sooners.

About Second-Seeded Oregon State
• The host Beavers (10-3) are ranked ninth in the latest NWCA/USA Today/AWN Div. I Coaches Poll and are seeded second at this weekend’s Sub-Regional.
• The Beavers will take on 19th-ranked and third-seeded Michigan in the opener, a team they lost to 21-18 at home earlier this year.
• Tech is 1-0 all-time against OSU, beating the Beavers 17-16 at the 2008 Virginia Duals in Hampton, Va.

About Third-Seeded Michigan
• The Wolverines (9-6) are ranked 19th in the latest NWCA/USA Today/AWN Div. I Coaches Poll and are seeded third at this weekend’s Sub-Regional.
• The Wolverines will take on ninth-ranked and second-seeded Oregon State in the opener, a team they beat 21-18 at Gill Coliseum earlier this year.
• Tech is 1-2 all-time against Michigan, but won the last meeting, a 22-15 victory in 2009 in Ann Arbor.

About Fourth-Seeded Oklahoma
• The Sooners (4-6) are ranked 25th in the latest NWCA/USA Today/AWN Div. I Coaches Poll and are seeded fourth at this weekend’s Sub-Regional.
• The Sooners will take on seventh-ranked and top-seeded Virginia Tech in the opener, a team they lost to 22-19 in Blacksburg earlier this year.
• Tech is 1-1 all-time against Oklahoma, holding on for the win on Jan. 27.
