Hokies head to Raleigh for Wolfpack Open
Seventeen wrestlers expected to compete

BLACKSBURG - Seventeen members of the Virginia Tech wrestling squad are expected to compete in the Wolfpack Open, hosted by NC State, Sunday in Raleigh. The action will begin at 10 a.m. and run all day inside Reynolds Coliseum.

Updates and brackets from the tournament will be on trackwrestling.com and complete results will be posted on gopack.com and hokiesports.com Sunday night.

Below are the probable competitors submitted by the Tech coaching staff. This list could change by Sunday based on injury or other factors.

Additionally, Devin Carter will compete in the prestigious NYAC Holiday International Open, hosted by the New York Athletic Club in New York City. The freestyle event portion goes all-day Saturday. For more than 50 years, the New York Athletic Club of New York City has hosted the annual NYAC Holiday International Wrestling Championships. Once again, it is hosting this FILA-sanctioned tournament with the participation of countries from around the world.

Carter will wrestle at the 60 kg weight class in the tournament. It will feature several Olympians from different countries in a freestyle event that uses the same scoring system used at the Olympics.
