Women's Basketball ticket catalog released
New season, new excitement, same affordability for fans

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announces season ticket sales for women’s basketball are now open. Facing elite competition in an electric atmosphere with a storied tradition, the Hokies are ready for the 2014-15 season and all we're missing is you.

Women’s season tickets are still a great deal for the family with adult tickets starting at $70 while youth tickets can be had for $25.

The Hokies are coming off of their best season yet under head coach Dennis Wolff after finishing with 14 victories, including wins over NCAA Tournament teams Florida, Michigan State and then-ranked #11 North Carolina on the road in Chapel Hill.

Tech returns three starters from last year’s team, including the second leading scorer, Vanessa Panousis. The Sydney, Australia native averaged 12.4 points and 4.0 assists per game while setting the school freshman record for three pointers made in a season. The Hokies also return strong presence inside with Taijah Campbell and Hannah Young back for their junior seasons. The pair ranked second and third on the team last season in rebounding, averaging 6.4 and 6.3 rpg, respectively.

In addition to the returnees, the Hokies have added a strong incoming class to the mix as Regan Magarity, Rachel Camp, Dominique Powell, Brielle Blaire and Khadedra Croker put on the Tech uniform this fall.

During the 2014-15 season, Tech will host ACC foes Florida State, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Virginia. The Seminoles, Cardinals, Tar Heels and Orange all made the NCAA Tournament last season while Fighting Irish was the national runner-up. The Hokies are also set to host Northwestern as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Last season, Virginia Tech installed new, high-definition videoboards in each end zone, while addtional plans call for a new state-of-the-art sound system; all aimed to enhance fan enjoyment and interaction during games.
