The Hokies
In the Hokies last game, Tech downed Old Dominion 73-61. Monet Tellier and Taijah Campbell tallied 19 points each to lead four Hokies in double digits. Campbell completed the double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds. Hannah Young also had a double-double for the Hokies with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Vanessa Panousis added 12 points while handing out five assists.

As a team, the Hokies shot over 45 percent from the field. Tech was 27-of-59 from the field including 6-of-18 (33 percent) from outside the arc. The Hokies also out rebounded the Lady Monarchs, 43-39.

After tallying 84 points against Howard and 73 points against Old Dominion, this marks the first time since the 2010-11 season that the Hokies have scored 70 or more points in back-to-back games. That season, Tech dropped in 87 versus Alcorn State on Dec. 29 and followed that up with 74 against Vanderbilt on Dec. 30.

The Gators
Florida also claimed wins in the first two games of the season, defeating Bethune-Cookman, 93-65, to open the season followed by an 88-77 win over North Florida. In the most recent game, Jaterra Bonds dropped in 25 points and handed out a game-high nine assists. Kayla Lews added 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Lily Svete, Cassie Peoples and January Miller had 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Bonds is averaging 17.5 points and 8.5 assists per game here in the early season. Svete is adding 13.5 points and Peoples is chipping in 11.5. Ronni Williams is averaging 11.0 rebounds per game.

The Series
This marks just the third meeting between the two teams. Florida holds the 2-0 lead in the series, but the two teams have not met in 15 years. The last meeting between the two teams was on March 16, 1998 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Florida won that game 89-57 in Gainesville.

Tech was led by former Hokie Amy Wetzel with 24 points. Tere Williams added 10 points and pulled down five rebounds. Lisa Witherspoon tallied six assists.

Up Next: The Hokies will remain at home to host Bucknell on Sunday, Nov. 17. Game time is slated for 2 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum. It will be the first time Virginia Tech and Bucknell have played.
