ATHENS, Ga. - The Virginia Tech track & field team posted numerous personal bests and top marks on the final day of Georgia’s Spec Towns in Athens, Georgia.

Eva Vivod and Teagan Rasche led the javelin throwers with their 1-2 finish in the event. Vivod recorded 55.24 meters (181-3) while Rasche set a new personal best with 48.52 meters (159-2).

Erica Hjerpe continued Tech’s success with a third place result in the pole vault to rank sixth in the Hokies’ record book, marking a 4.05-meter (13-3.5) clearance.

Kacia Vines rounded out the group of fielders with a personal best long jump of 5.73 meters (18-9.75).

For the sprinters, Dante Price posted a season best time of 10.69 in the 100-meter dash, placing sixth to begin the day while Adeyeni Aromolaran took 13th for the women.

In the 200-meter dash, Price clocked in at 21.54 while Bane recorded a personal best in 21.72. Courtney Blanden and Ama-Selina Tchume set personal bests in their fourth and fifth place finishes for the women’s team with 23.97 and 24.28 times, respectively. With Blanden’s finish, she now ranks eighth all-time in Virginia Tech’s record books.

Chester Hebden led the 400-meter group with his fourth place finish in 48.65 - new personal best time. Jared Bane and Jack Strollo rounded out the group with top-10 finishes.

On the women’s side, Blanden posted a personal best time in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 55.33.

Austin Kolko took third in the 400-meter hurdles, another personal record for the Hokies on Saturday. On the women’s side, Jada Gundran took eighth while Shanel Burr came in 11th.

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Despite the windy conditions in Lynchburg, Mackenzie Muldoon and Emily Miller led Tech on day two of the Liberty Invitational, placing first and second in the decathlon and pentathlon, respectively.

Muldoon posted another first place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.33 to begin his second day of competition. He placed second in both the pole vault and javelin with a third place finish in the 1,500 meters. Muldoon’s 6,209 points earned him the top mark in his first collegiate decathlon.

Miller’s second day of competition was highlighted by her 5.06-meter (16-7.25) long jump to tie her personal best. Miller collected 4,117 points to place second in her first pentathlon as a Hokie.

Alex Maguire placed second in 400-meter dash while Alexander Merritt took third in the 400-meter hurdles to wrap up competition.

Next weekend, the Hokies will travel to the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Class in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and the UNC-Charlotte Invitational in North Carolina.
