Surpassed the NCAA automatic qualifying standard in the weight throw in his first competition of the season with a winning mark of 72-5 (22.07m) at the Hokie Invitational ... Threw a personal best 75-7.25 (23.04m) to place second in the weight throw at the VT Elite Meet ... Finished runner-up in the weight throw at the ACC Championship (69-11.5, 21.32m), helping the Hokies sweep the event for the second year in a row ... 2011 Outdoor: Won the hammer throw national title at the NCAA Championships on his final toss, a season-best 238-6 (72.69m) … Was one of only two competitors, along with teammate Marcel Lomincky, to throw past 70 meters all season … Finished runner-up at the ACC Championships 236-2 (71.99m) and the NCAA East Regional (233-6, 71.83m)... 2011 Indoor: Pushed his streak to three consecutive All-America honors, finishing second in the weight throw (69-9.5, 21.27m) at the NCAA Meet … Beat the NCAA automatic qualifying mark in his first weight throw competition of the season with a team-leading 70-8 (21.54m) … Earned his second-consecutive ACC indoor weight throw title (70-4.5, 21.45m) ... 2010 Outdoor: Finished second at the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw, earning All-American status with a final heave of 237-7 (72.42m)… Took first place in the NCAA East Regional in the hammer throw with distance of 234-1 (71.35m) … Finished second at the Georgia Tech Invite (225-10, 68.83m) and fourth at the ACC Championships (207-6, 63.25m) ... 2010 Indoor: Earned All-American accolades, placing third at the NCAA Championships in the weight throw (72-6.75, 22.12m) … ACC Champion in the weight throw, meeting the NCAA automatic qualifying mark with a season-best toss of 73-10.25 (22.51m) … Took first place at the VT Elite Meet, meeting the automatic qualifying standard at 72-5.75 (22.09m).
