Several Hokies to participate in Movember
Month of November tries to raise awareness for men's health concerns

BLACKSBURG – Several members of the Virginia Tech baseball team along with Associate Head Coach Mike Kunigonis will take part in Movember – an annual, month-long event that involves growing a moustache during the month of November to raise awareness for prostate cancer and other male health concerns.

The goal of Movember is to change the face of men’s health. It focuses on awareness and education on the health issues men encounter and staying mentally healthy as well. For more information, click here.

“Our players do a great job of getting involved in the community and bringing awareness to many different causes,” Kunigonis said. “Once again our guys have answered the call and are raising awareness for a great cause – Men’s Health. I’m excited to participate in this and help spread the word about Movember.”

Senior Brad Markey, junior Sean Keselica, redshirt sophomore Ryan Burns and freshman Tom Stoffel will join Kunigonis in the event, as they will grow mustaches for the entire month of November.

Those wishing to see the images of each of the participants during the month can do so on the Hokieball and 19 Ways facebook pages, where facial hair progress can be examined and critiqued.

The event is part of the team’s 19 Ways campaign – the baseball program’s initiative to find 19 ways to make a difference in the community. For more information on the team’s 19 Ways program, please visit the facebook page or contact Austin Hartsook at hartsook@vt.edu.
