BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball program will look to rebound from its loss the last time it was on the floor and get back to its winning ways Thursday night against nationally ranked Duke. Tipoff from Carilion Clinic Court is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
It will be Student Appreciation Night at Cassell Coliseum, as the first 100 students will receive a free slice of pizza and the first 200 students will receive a free Cassell Guard t-shirt.

The No. 15/15 Blue Devils: The Blue Devils (14-4, 3-2) are led in scoring by All-ACC performer Lexie Brown, who averages 20.4 points per game and shoots 50 percent from the floor. Two other Duke players score in double figures, Rebecca Greenwell (12.8) and Haley Gorecki (10.0).
The last time out, Duke defeated Virginia 55-48. Brown led the Blue Devils in scoring with 14 points, while also recording six rebounds and six steals. Erin Mathias added 12. Duke outscored the Cavaliers 16-10 in the paint and 20-12 in points off of turnovers.
The series: Duke owns a 25-2 advantage in the series, which has been contested since 1980 and on an annual basis since 2004 when Virginia Tech joined the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Last season at Cameron Indoor Stadium, Tech's Kendyl Brooks knocked down five 3-pointers and led the Hokies in scoring (15 points), as Duke earned an 84-59 victory on its home court. Sidney Cook (15 points, 12 rebounds) and Regan Magarity (13 points, 11 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles.
