TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is set for a trip to the Sunshine State for a matchup with 13th ranked Florida State on Sunday, Jan. 14. Tip is slated for 2:30 p.m. with coverage available through regional sports networks.

The Seminoles: Florida State defeated rival Miami 105-67 Thursday night to advance to 3-1 in league play. Six players scored in double figures, while the defense forced 20 turnovers. The Seminoles held a 44-24 edge in points in the paint and outrebounded the Hurricanes 45-28.
On the season Imani Wright leads the team in scoring at 23.3 points per game. The redshirt junior guard is shooting 51.5 percent from 3-point range.
The series: Tech trail the all-time series 10-26. In last season’s meeting in Cassell Coliseum, the Noles earned an 82-54 win. Shakayla Thomas was one of four Seminoles in double figures with 17 points and four rebounds. Chanette Hicks led the Hokies with 18 points, while Regan Magarity recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Up next: The Hokies will play host to nationally ranked Duke on Carilion Clinic Court on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be available on ACC Network Extra.
The first 250 season ticket holders at the gate will receive a free concessions voucher for a small popcorn. The first 100 students will receive a free slice of pizza and the first 200 students will receive a free Cassell Guard t-shirt.
