BLACKSBURG - The 7-2 Virginia Tech women’s basketball team returns to Carilion Clinic Court, Wednesday night for an 8:30 p.m. tip against the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks.

Fans who show their men's basketball ticket from the Radford game at the Promotions Entrance will receive free admission to the game.

Tech defeated Radford, 68-42 Sunday afternoon behind Regan Magarity’s career-high 28 points. The redshirt junior shot 11 for 22 from the field and pulled down 12 rebounds, securing her fifth double-double of the season.

Michelle Berry grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds off the bench.

Record watch: Chanette Hicks sits at 249 steals for her career, the second best mark in program history, just three behind Taiqua Brittingham’s record of 252.

Hicks currently leads the conference in steals with 35, a mark that is good for third nationally.

The Hawks: MDES enters the contest 1-5 on the season, most recently playing George Mason on Nov. 29, falling 82-68. On the season, the Hawks are lead in the scoring column by Bairesha Gill-Miles at 9.8 points per game. Jordyn Smith is second on the squad at 9.2.

The Hokies are the second of three ACC games on the Hawks’ schedule for the 2017-18 season. UMES fell to Syracuse 68-45 on Nov. 16 and the Hawks will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a tilt against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Dec. 9.

The series: The Hokies and Hawks have met once previously, during the 2014-15 season, when the Hokies won 63-41.

Up next: The Hokies hit the road for a two-game road swing beginning on Sunday, Dec. 10 against the Chattanooga Mocs and concluding with a matchup on Tuesday, Dec. 12, against the Monmouth Hawks.

Tech’s next contest at home will be a 6 p.m. tip on Saturday, Dec. 16 against High Point.

Montgomery County elementary and middle school children will receive complimentary admission to the game with fliers sent home through Montgomery County schools. Following the conclusion of the game, the women's basketball team student-athletes will be available to sign autographs on the concourse.
