The Hokies return home after Thursday’s 96-49 Big Ten/ACC Challenge victory in Champaign, Illinois. Two Hokies, Regan Magarity and Chanette Hicks tallied double-doubles as Tech jumped on the Illini early and didn’t look back.

Hicks’ stat line was an impressive one, 20 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds and six steals as she set the tone in the first quarter with her stifling defense. Her four first quarter steals, set up eight points on the other end for the Hokies.

Rachel Camp got the start again at the four position and once again had an impressive game, scoring 18 and pulling down six rebounds.

“She’s playing at the four in Alexis Jean’s absence, but I couldn’t fault her energy and her effort,” said Kenny Brooks. “I’m very very proud of her, she deserves this. It’s great for her to have a performance like this.”

Tech is 4-0 at home on the season, and will look to continue its streak of 32 consecutive non-conference home wins, dating back to the 2014-15 season.

The Highlanders: Radford is 3-1 on the season entering Sunday’s game. The Highlanders last played on Nov. 28, hosting UNC Greensboro, winning 56-53. Jayda Worthy (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Janayla White (15 points and 12 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles.

Averaging 55.8 points per game, Radford is led in scoring by guards Khiana Johnson (12.3) and Destinee Walker (11.3).

The series: The Hokies and Highlanders have met 35 times previously, with Tech holding 26-9 edge. Virginia Tech has won each of the last seven meetings.

Last season, Tech won 71-52, led by Hicks’ 18 points and eight steals, while Regan Magarity recorded 15 points and eight rebounds.

Up next: Tech is back on Carilion Clinic Court on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 8:30 p.m. when they take on the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks.
