Hokies, Knights set for tip inside Cassell

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is set to host the UCF Knights Sunday evening from Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum.
The game is the team’s second in three days following a 87-56 victory over USC Upstate on Friday night. Alexis Jean’s 19 points and eight rebounds led Tech, while Regan Magarity turned in a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Knights (2-1)
UCF’s last time out was a 65-30 victory at Gardner-Webb. Aliyah Gregory led the Knights with 17 points, Lawriell Wilson added 10 and Masseny Keba scored nine points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
The Series
Virginia Tech and UCF have met two times previously. Last year in Orlando, the Hokies defeated the Knight 67-64. Sidney Cook led three Hokies in double figures with 17 points and added nine rebounds. Chanette Hicks scored 15 points and dished out five assists, while Kendyl Brooks poured in 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
