BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head women’s basketball coach Dennis Wolff announced Monday the signing of Genesis Parker and Kaela Kinder to National Letters of Intent for the 2016-17 season.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Tabbed a three-star recruit by ESPN HoopGurlz and ranked 25th among guards … Was an All-Queens First Team Selection … Helped team to the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Division I Crown and the State Federation … Varsity Diocesan Champs.

Personal: Kaela A. Kinder … Born Sept. 7, 1998 … Daughter of John and Juanita Kinder … Has two siblings, Niavona and John Jr. … Brother was a quarterback as an undergrad at Syracuse (earned ACC Top 6 for Service honors) and as a grad at SUNY Stony Brook after being named the New York State Player of the Year.

Wolff on Kinder: “Kaela is a versatile two guard. She plays on a very good high school team and has shown what an excellent defender she is. Throughout her career, Kaela has continued to improve as an offensive player.”
