Hokies to host ETSU on Saturday
Tech faces Bucs at 5 p.m. in Cassell

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is set to host East Tennessee State on Saturday, Nov. 29 in a 5 p.m. game at Cassell Coliseum.

THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech fell short against Old Dominion 69-62 the last time out. Vanessa Panousis led all scorers with 22 points. Rachel Camp added 19 points. Regan Magarity had her third double-digit rebounding game of the season with 10 while dropping in nine points.

Camp is leading the Hokies on the season, averaging a double-double with 14.4 points. Magarity is averaging a double-double with 14.0 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Panousis is adding 12.4 points and handing out 3.4 assists per game. Taijah Campbell is notching 10.3. points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

THE BUCCANEERS
East Tennessee State fell to Indiana, 97-69 the in the Bucs last outing. Destiny Mitchell posted her fourth double-double of the season, tallying 16 points and 11 rebounds. Shamauria Bridges tallied 15 points and Chandler Christopher notched 14. Maria Bond added 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four assists.

Bridges leads ETSU on the season with 17.8 points per game. Tiana Tarter is adding 11.7 ppg and Bond is chipping in 11.3 ppg. Mitchell is averagind a double-double with 11.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.

THE SERIES
Virginia Tech and ETSU have met 16 times previously with the Hokies holding the 9-7 advantage in the all-time series. The teams first met in 1977 as the Bucs claimed wins in the first three meetings, but the Hokies have won the four most recent contests, including the last one on Dec. 18, 2006. Tech took the game 78-64 in Blacksburg. Former Hokies Kirby Copeland, Brittany Cook and Nare Diawara led Tech with 20, 18 and 12 points, respectively.

Up Next: The Hokies go back on the road, traveling to Gainesville, Fla. to face Florida on Monday, Dec. 1 in a 9 p.m. game that will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
