BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech head women’s basketball coach Dennis Wolff announces two additions to his staff for the 2014-15 season as Brittany Morris is named video coordinator and Nia Evans joins as staff assistant.

Morris will manage all of the video needs for the women’s basketball program including recording games and practices, editing film, film exchange and creating highlight videos.

She comes to Tech following a playing career at Seton Hall University where Morris was named Second Team BIG-EAST as a senior after averaging a team-high 13.7 points per game and setting the Seton Hall single-season record with 74 three-pointers. Morris ended her career as the SHU all-time leader in three pointers with 178. The Raleigh, North Carolina native made 80 starts in her four-year career including every game during her junior and senior seasons.

In addition to her playing experience, Morris has worked with the Garner Flames AAU Basketball Organization in Raleigh where she helped coach young players and coordinated all of the team’s video operations.

“Brittany comes to us after a successful career as a player at Seton Hall University,” said Wolff. “She brings a wide range of experiences to her role as video coordinator.”

Evans returns to Virginia Tech after wrapping up a four-year career with the Hokies. She will assist in the day-to-day running of the women’s basketball program, helping with operations, recruiting coordination and video editing while working toward her graduate degree.

The Decatur, Georgia native appeared in 102 games during her time with the Hokies and served as a team co-captain during her senior year. Evans recorded a perfect game as a senior, going 4-of-4 from the field, including her first career three pointer. She also went 3-of-3 from the line and grabbed five rebounds.

“Nia was one of our co-captains last year and showed leadership,” Wolff stated. “We are very happy that she is going to continue with the program as she looks to gain experience to pursue her goal of becoming a collegiate coach.”
