Tech will battle 30 other teams in search of national title

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Virginia Tech women’s cross country team will race in their final meet tomorrow at the 2014 NCAA DI Cross Country Championships. The Hokies will be battling it out with 30 other teams in search of a national championship.

The nation’s 31 best teams as well as the best individual runners will be competing in the meet. Only the top-40 finishers will walk away with All-America honors at the conclusion of the race.

Along competing with Rapp are Paige Kvartunas, a two-time All-Region performer, Shannon Morton, an All-Region performer the current school record holder in the outdoor 1500, Hilary Krein, an All-Region performer at Oklahoma as well as Tech, Hanna Green, an outdoor All-American in the 800 and Katarina Smiljanec.

Serving as alternates in case any of their teammates are unable to perform are Amanda Smith, a two time ACC Champion in track & field, Abigail Motley and Alex Watt.
