Track posts quality performances at NC State Last Chance Meet and Georgia Tech Invitational
Laidig posts win in men's pole vault

RALEIGH, N.C. and ATLANTA, Ga. – The Virginia Tech men’s and women’s track and field team posted some quality performances at both the NC State Last Chance Meet and the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday evening.

At the NC State Last Chance Meet, Martin Dally posted a fourth-place finish in the men’s 800-meter race. Dally finished in a time of 1:50.57. Neil Gourley finished in 10th place in the men’s 1500-meter race. Gourley posted a time of 3:48.62.

Sarah Kadelka finished in third place in the women’s javelin throw with a mark of 144’3” (43.98m) while Tomas Kruzliak won the men’s hammer throw after hitting a mark of 223’11” (68.25m).

Torben Laidig won the men’s pole vault after hitting 17’1.5” (5.22m). Chris Uhle (16’1.75”, 4.92m) and Brad Johnson (16’1.75”, 4.92m) finished in third and fourth places, respectively.

At the Georgia Tech Invitational, Johnna Dominick finished in fifth place in the women’s high jump with a mark of 5’07.25” (1.71m). Dante Price finished in 13th place in the men’s 200-meter dash with a time of 21.46 seconds.

The Hokies will be back in action tomorrow evening when they host the Hokie Twilight Meet. This meet will be Tech’s first outdoor home meet in nearly ten years. Events begin with the pole vault at 4 p.m.
