TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - With one weather delay followed by another that led to the eventual cancellation of today's events at the 34th Annual Florida State Relays, some members of the Virginia Tech sprint squads were at least able to get some work in today as the men's and women's 200 meters were run after the delay this morning. The short day wasn't without a Hokie highlight as Jonathan McCants won his second race in as many weeks.
Just after Yvonne Amegashie finished just outside the top 10 in the women's 200 meters, McCants paced the Hokie men in their race. The senior captured the win after clocking in at 21.14 while Darrell Wesh wasn't too far behind him in fourth at 21.32. Freshman Tadashi Pinder finished just inside the top 10 at ninth with a time of 21.65.
Next weekend, the Hokies will split up their squad as some members will head to the Raleigh Relays while others will travel to Atlanta for the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
