2012 Cross Country: Earned All-ACC honors after taking sixth at the ACC Championships with a time of 23:54.7, eclipsing 24 minutes in an 8k for the first time in his career … Helped the Hokies claim the program’s first ACC team title … Competed in five races, including one as an unattached runner … Finished 14th at the VT Invitational (25:36.66) and 20th at the Charlotte Invitational (25:05.45).

2012 Outdoor: Runner-up in the 3000 meters at the Colonial Relays (8:24.60) … Took 14th at the ACC Championship in the 10000 meters (30:44.71) … Clocked a season best 10k at the Roanoke Twilight (30:00.72) to place third … Took second at the Radford Highlander Invitational in the 1500 meters with a season-best 3:50.94 … Also posted a season-best 800 meter time of 1:55.22 at Radford.

2012 Indoor: Posted the team’s top time for the season in the 3000 meters running an 8:08.91 at the SPIRE Division I Invitational … Placed 15th at the ACC Championship in the 3000 meters (8:19.08) … Clocked a season best mile of 4:07.79 at the VT Elite Meet.

2011 Cross Country: Competed in five meets, including one as an unattached runner … Placed 15th at the Charlotte Invite (24:53.8) … Was third on the team at the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational and finished 62nd overall (25:19) … Ran a season-best 8k of 24:45.2 at the ACC Championships and was 52nd … Won the Hokie Open 6k in 18:26.15.

High School: 10-time Virginia AAA All-State selection, including three times in cross country ... Was the Foot Locker Southeast Regional freshman cross country champion … Helped Midlothian High School qualify as a team to the Nike Cross Country Nationals as a senior … Finished fourth at the Nike Cross Country Southeast Regional Championship in 2009 … Nike Indoor National Meet freshman mile champion in track … Five-time All-State pick in indoor track (three times for 1600m, twice in 4x800m relay) … Twice All-State in the outdoor 1,600m … Won the MileStat outdoor 3,200m as a junior.

Personal: Son of Bryan and Pamela Burleigh … Has two siblings … Father was a starting defensive back for Tech’s football team … High school teammate of fellow Hokie Darren Barlow ... Plans to major in university studies.
