BLACKSBURG – Heavy rains along the coastal region washed out the opening day of the UNCW Fall Invitational, reducing the tournament to a two-day affair that begins early Saturday.

The two-day event is round-robin style, and includes competition from Campbell, Coastal Carolina, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro and host UNC Wilmington. Matches are set to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, at the UNCW Courts. The teams will play doubles first, followed by singles action.

Senior Sansitha Nandakumar, juniors Katherine Butler, Sarah Baron and Sloan Barton and freshmen Shene Disbergen, Nancy Fawzy, McKenzie Collins and Luisa Uscocovich will play in the Hokie lineup this weekend.

Tech will face Charlotte and Coastal Carolina in doubles on Saturday morning, with singles matches against UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m.
