GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech’s Francesca Fusinato has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
Fusinato was named Female Player of the Week after going undefeated in singles and doubles play and earning a 7-5, 6-2 win over No. 1 Joana Eidukonyte of Clemson. The junior then helped the Hokies to two 7-0 sweeps of Richmond and UMBC, defeating Richmond’s Ana Abadias and UMBC’s Maria Siopacha in the No. 1 singles spot. Fusinato earned two doubles victories over the week, one at No. 1 versus Miller-Krasilnikov and Ruiz of Clemson, and another at No. 2 against Dolashvili and Kurasz of UMBC.
Wake Forest's Skander Mansouri earned Male Player of the Week honors after leading No. 11 Wake Forest to a 5-2 road victory over No. 2 Oklahoma.
