Both Hokies fall on second day of ITA All-American
Stoica and Fusinato record one win each on Tuesday

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA. – Both members of the Virginia Tech women’s tennis team fell in the second round of singles matches at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California. Ilinca Stoica and Francesca Fusinato will join the field of representatives from all over the country to compete in the national spotlight.

Illinca Stoica defeated Emily Olivier of New Mexico in two sets on Tuesday to open play before falling in three to fellow ACC member Lexi Borr of Boston College.

Francesca Fusinato also won her opening bout against Texas Tech’s Lynn Kiro on Tuesday, taking down the Red Raider in two decisive sets. Fusinato faced the eight-seed Belinda Woolcock of Florida in the next round and took the second set but was unable to pull out a victory.

The Hokies will take the court next in singles play at the ITF Circuit held in Rockport, S.C.
