Tech to kick off fall season at Wolfpack Invitational
Eight Hokies will be in action this weekend

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team will open up their 2015 fall slate on the campus of N.C. State this weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina for the Wolfpack Invitational.

The Hokies will send Sloan Barton, Katherine Butler, Elena Cerezo-Codina, Caroline Daxhelet, Sansitha Nandakumar, Kelly Williford and newcomer Emily Pence down for the weekend.

Tech is coming off a historic spring season that included multiple wins against ranked opponents and the second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Hokies advanced to the second round after defeating Long Beach State in their first road NCAA Tournament win ever. Additionally, Fusinato became the second player in team history to be selected to participate in the NCAA Singles Championship.

After having no seniors on the team last season, Tech will return every member of the squad and, along with the addition of Pence, look to build on last year's success.

Play will begin Friday, September 11 with Tech playing a doubles match against host N.C. State at 9 a.m., followed by another doubles match versus Georgia State and a singles match with Mississippi State.

The matches can be followed via live streaming at here. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and hokiesports.com for updates throughout the weekend.
