No. 1 North Carolina too much for No. 41 Hokies
Tech falls against some of the nation's top competition

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team fell to No. 1 North Carolina by a score of 7-0 in Chapel Hill on Sunday. The Hokies experienced firsthand why the Tar Heels are the nation’s top-ranked team.

The tough day for Tech included No. 104 Caroline Daxhelet giving No. 15 Caroline Price of UNC a run for her money in their second set, but eventually falling by a score of 7-6.

All six of UNC’s starters as well as all three of their doubles teams are ranked by the ITA. The Tar Heels move to 13-0 on the season and 3-0 in ACC play. Tech drops to 7-4 on the season and is still looking for its first ACC victory.

The Hokies will welcome Florida State to the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Saturday for an ACC clash. The match begins at 11 A.M. and live stats will be available.
