No. 50 Hokies to host three matches in Blacksburg over the weekend
Tech will face Old Dominion on Friday, Coastal Carolina and Morgan State on Sunday

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The No. 50 Virginia Tech women’s tennis team returns to action this weekend hosting one match Friday and two matches on Sunday at the Burrows-Burrleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg this weekend.

Old Dominion comes to town on Friday for a 3 p.m. tilt with the Hokies. The Monarchs will enter the match with a 2-1 record out of Conference USA. Old Dominion has tallied wins over both Penn State and Oral Roberts this Spring.

Sunday will bring two more matches for Tech, beginning with Coastal Carolina out of the Big South and then Morgan State out of the MEAC. Coastal comes in with a 1-1 record, most recently securing a win over USC Upstate last weekend. The Bears of Morgan State are currently winless at 0-6.

Additionally, Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina will square off on Saturday in Blacksburg in between their Friday and Sunday matches with Tech, respectively.

The 50th-ranked Hokies enter the weekend at 3-1 after dropping a match to a tough seventh-ranked Alabama team in Tuscaloosa two weekends ago. While in Alabama, the Hokies also recorded a 4-3 win against then No. 35 Princeton. Tech is perfect this season at home, defeating Radford and Davidson in a doubleheader to kick off the Spring back in January.
