BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team will send three representatives to Chapel Hill, N.C. this Friday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 9 to compete in the 11th Annual Kitty Harrison Invitational.
Raluca Mita, Francesca Fusinato and Mariana Silva will be taking the court for the Hokies this weekend. The tournament is set to get underway at 9 a.m. on Friday beginning with doubles play, followed by singles at 1 p.m.
Named in honor of former UNC head coach Kitty Harrison, the event features 13 teams from throughout the country, including ACC squads Duke, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, in addition to the host Tar Heels.
Matches will be played mostly at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina, but a few matches will take place either at Duke or Wake Forest. Matches will be played both inside and outside.
The Kitty Harrison Invitational, along with Ilinca Stoica’s appearance in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship in New York this weekend, will mark the end of the Fall season for the Hokies.
