CARY, N.C. — The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team fell to Georgia Tech 4-0 on Thursday afternoon in the second round of the ACC Women’s Tennis Championship at the Cary Tennis Park.

The Yellow Jackets took the doubles point to take an early lead. With an 8-4 win by Kendal Woodard and Megan Kurey over Ilinca Stoica and Kelly Williford at No. 1, Georgia Tech’s win at No. 2 gave them the doubles point. Natasha Prokhnevska and Muriel Wacker topped Carol Kahoun and Raluca Mita 8-2 in the No. 2 slot.

Prokhnevska took the No. 4 singles match 6-3, 6-2 over Mita to add a second point for the Yellow Jackets. Rasheeda McAdoo’s 6-2, 6-4 win over Williford at No. 3 gave Georgia Tech the 3-0 lead, and Wacker clinched the match with a 6-0, 7-6 victory over Isel Martinez-Marcos at No. 5.

Tech rounded out the 2014 season with Thursday's match and finished the season with a 13-13 overall record and a 4-10 ACC mark.
