GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Four players on the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team have been named to All-Atlantic Coast Conference teams for the 2013 season, as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning.

Senior Jazmine Reeves, sophomores Ashley Meier and Jordan Coburn and freshman Murielle Tiernan were all named to an All-ACC squad, representing the largest all-conference contingent of Hokies in program history.

“I’m very proud of all of our girls and the recognition that they’ve received,” Head Coach Chugger Adair said. “To have the most All-ACC players that we’ve ever had is a testament to both their hard work over the past year and the efforts of our team as a whole this season.”

Reeves was named First-Team All-ACC for her standout senior campaign, marking the first time a Hokie has ever been named first-team all-conference in program history. The forward, who was named to the ACC All-Freshman team in 2010, turned in the best season of her career in 2013. Reeves racked up eight goals and five assists on the year, good for a team-leading 21 points, while making herself a constant threat in the attacking third.

Meier was named to the All-ACC Second Team for the second consecutive season, after receiving Second Team and All-Freshman honors in 2012. This season, Meier has continued her role as an attacking presence in the Hokies’ midfield, tallying eight goals for the second year in a row, while chipping in a pair of assists and two game-winners.

Coburn earned her first career all-conference honor, earning a spot on the All-ACC Third Team after leading the Tech defense to its best season in program history. As the only returning starter on the backline, Coburn marshaled the Hokie defense from the center-back position as it held opponents to just 14 goals in 19 regular season matches. The previous program record was 18, set last season. Coburn also found time to tally assists in victories over North Texas and Syracuse.

Tiernan was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team after a standout year. The Ashburn, Va. native racked up eight goals in her first year as a Hokie, tied for the most on the team with Reeves and Meier. She also assisted on four other goals and tallied three game winners. Her 57 shots are also tops on the team.

Tech has never had more than two players named to all-conference teams. The previous high was set in 2007, when Marika Gray was named to the All-ACC Second Team and All-Freshman Team, while Kelly Lynch was also named All-Freshman.

The Hokies will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 8, when they take on top-ranked Virginia in the ACC Semifinals in Cary, N.C. The match will be streamed live on ESPN3 and live stats will be available.
