Tech returns to dual meet action after seeing strong performances at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic last weekend

BLACKSBURG – No. 9 Virginia Tech will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Chattanooga on Friday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. before facing No. 17 Central Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m.

INSIDE THE MATCH: CHATTANOOGA
·The Hokies are 7-8 all-time vs. the Mocs in a series that dates back to 1974. Tech won the last meetings between the two programs, 29-6, on Nov. 13, 2016 at the Moss Arts Center.
·Two Hokies now serve on the Chattanooga coaching staff in 2006 All-American David Hoffman and three-time All-American and three-time ACC champion Nick Brascetta.
·Kyle Norstrem, Dennis Gustafson and David McFadden have already faced their projected opponents this season at the Hokie Open (11/5) with Gustafson and McFadden pulling out victories.
·Norstrem will look to avenge a 6-4 decision to Alonzo Allen.
INSIDE THE MATCH: CENTRAL MICHIGAN
·Tech is 3-2 all-time vs. Central Michigan and last faced the Chippewas in 2014 in the old NWCA National Duals format. The Hokies won the match, 22-15.
·The Hokies are 1-0 vs. ranked opponents in the early goings of 2017-18 with the lone dual coming against Stanford in the 22-12 season-opening victory.
·Fans will see two ranked bouts at 149 pounds (Solomon Chishko vs. Justin Oliver) and 184 pounds (Zack Zavatsky vs. Jordan Ellingwood).
·Chishko defeated Oliver by major decision, 12-2, in the consolation round at the 2017 NCAA Championships while Zavatsky and Ellingwood will be squaring off for the first time.
