BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech wrestling squad will head to North Carolina this weekend for a pair of ACC dual meets. On Friday, the Hokies will take on Duke at 5:30 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. On Saturday, Tech will take on NC State at 1 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum. That match will follow a UVa match as the ‘Pack and Cavs will battle at 11 a.m.
This is the home stretch for the Hokies as they have just one more confirmed match on the schedule right now, a Feb. 18 match against Old Dominion at Andrew Lewis Middle School in Salem. Officials from both Tech and Maryland are working on rescheduling the match that was supposed to take place this past weekend, but was postponed due to snow.
Tech will head back to Raleigh in early March for the ACC Championships and will then prepare for the NCAA Championships. With the grind of a long season, head coach Kevin Dresser will rest some of his starters this weekend to start getting them ready for the postseason.
Below are all three probable lineups for this weekend. Of note on Tech’s records, they now include all matches (attached and unattached) against Division I competition, as used by the NCAA for Gold and Silver Standard purposes. The official records (attached only) can still be found on hokiesports.com.
