RADFORD, Va. - With his second place mark, David Prince led the Hokies track & field team on Friday at Radford’s Highlander Invitational on Friday.
The junior long jumper clinched the number two spot on his fifth jump of the day with a 7.07-meter (23-2.5) mark.
The Hokies also competed in the pole vault, long jump, and discus in the field and the 1500-meter run on Friday.
However due to technical difficulties, the men’s long jump was the only event reported. The remaining events’ results will be posted on Saturday.
The field includes athletes from ACC rival Virginia, Liberty, Davidson, Washington and Lee, Queens University of Charlotte, Roanoke College, and Randolph College.
Tech’s sprinters and middle-distance runners will begin competition Saturday at noon. Ryan Shepard and Emily Miller will represent the Hokies in the high jump while Pavla Kuklova and Tomas Kruzliak will compete in the hammer throw in the field.
