MIAMI, Fla. - Jasmine Mitchell, Dante Price and the men’s 4x100-meter relay team all earned wins to pace the Hokies at the Hurricane Invitational.
On the women’s side, Mitchell earned her win in the women’s 400-meter race with a time 54.28. Mitchell also grabbed a second-place finish in the women’s 200-meter race with a time of 24.22 seconds.
In the women’s 100-meter dash, Ciara Simms earned a third-place finish with a time of 11.93 seconds.
Nora McKiver finished second in the women’s 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.02.
Johnna Dominick hit 5’5” in the women’s high jump en route to a second place finish to round out the top performances for the women on the day.
On the men’s side, Dante Price earned a win in the men’s 200-meter dash to with a time of 20.74.
The men’s 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Price, Tadashi Pinder, Marcus Finney and Alex Ellison earned a first-place finish with a time of 40.94.
Pinder finished in second in the men’s 100-meter race with a time of 10.43 setting a personal best.
Finney garnered a fifth place finish in the men’s 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.96. Alexander Merritt posted a third-place finish in the men’s 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.09.
The Hokies will compete again next weekend at the Raleigh Relays and the Texas Relays.
