BLACKSBURG, Va. – A select few members of the Virginia Tech men's and women's swimming teams completed day two of the weekend at the Carolina College Invitational on Saturday.
At the Carolina College Invitational on Friday, the men’s 200 free relay swam a 1:23.05 and took first in the finals on Saturday with a time of 1:24.97. The team was comprised of Cole McGarry, Jordan Bovee, Christ Outlaw and Adam Thomas. Steffen Erickson swam a 4:27.36 in the men’s 500 free to come in second on Friday. Oscar Ike finished fourth in the 400 IM. Danielle Griggs finished fifth on Friday in the 50 free.
“Our Hokies down in Chapel Hill are racing very well. Cole McGarry looks to be one for the future, as does Ericksen. We are also real pleased with Danielle Griggs as she’s showing great energy and a strong ability to race. We are looking forward to a strong finish on Sunday,” Skinner said.
The Carolina College Invitational will resume again at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
