GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Senior Nathan Hoisington of the Virginia Tech swimming team has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
At the Virginia Tech Invitational, Virginia Tech’s Hoisington recorded the ACC’s 10th fastest 100 breast time of the season, as he registered a mark of 54.89. The time was enough to merit a NCAA ‘B’ cut standard and a first-place finish. In addition to his top finish in the 100 breast, the senior from Leawood, Kan., posted a first-place finish in the 200 breast event.
“What a fitting way for Nathan to end his career,” Head Coach Ned Skinner said. “He has accomplished so much, both as a student and as an athlete, during his time at Virginia Tech. From Olympic trials to ACC medals to NCAA scoring, he’s virtually done it all. We’re very proud of Nathan in achieving this honor.”
The H2Okies are off this week as they wrapped up their regular season this past weekend. Tech will head to the Women’s ACC Championships on Feb. 19-22 and the Men’s ACC Championships on Feb. 26-Mar. 1.
