Responsibilities: Northup is responsible for providing the strategic direction, leadership and oversight of four primary areas – the Hokie Scholarship Fund, the Monogram Club, premium seating and suites operations for football and basketball, and the new external engagement department.

At Virginia Tech: As a member of the Hokie Club, Northup will oversee the Scholarship Fund and the athletic annual giving staff and operations. For the Monogram Club, Northup oversees former letterwinner involvement, membership and fundraising. As the overseer of the suites and club area of Lane Stadium and Courtside at Cassell, she helps to improve the overall atmosphere of the game-day experience and looks to identify potential opportunities, including but not limited to retention and new premium seat sales. Lastly, as lead of the external engagement team, Northup works to create memorable fan experiences and dynamic customer service initiatives.

Prior to Virginia Tech: From 2008-14, Northup worked at the University of Missouri, where she directed and oversaw a newly-formed division that was responsible for creating new initiatives to expand customer service, improve and develop premium seating areas/services, and increase the game-day experience and fan appreciation at all athletic events. She was a member of the team that raised $84 million toward Mizzou's “Going for Gold” campaign. During her tenure, Missouri experienced an increase in annual fund donor membership of 60 percent and 40 percent in annual fund gift growth. In addition, she had oversight of premium seating, the Tiger Scholarship Fund donor stewardship and cultivation of programmatic elements, special events, and sport specific booster groups.

Prior to that, she worked as a graduate student in the Mountaineer Athletic Club at West Virginia University before landing a full-time position there, where she as an assistant director of development for athletics from 2006-08.

Northup started her professional career as a teacher at Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she also served as the head coach of the girls’ soccer team and assisted the girls’ basketball team. She worked at Liberty Christian Academy from 2002-06.

Personal: A native of Springfield, Virginia, Northup lives in Blacksburg.
