All proceeds benefit the Virginia Tech women's athletics programs
April 20, 2018
BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech Department of Athletics will hold its Third Annual Celebration of Women’s Sports brought to you by Coca-Cola. Funds raised from the dinner, scheduled for April 20, and auction will benefit the women’s athletics programs. This year’s event features a panel made up of former Virginia Tech student-athletes as the Hokies celebrate the history of women’s sports at Virginia Tech.
The auction has launched here and consists of several Virginia Tech Fan Experience packages, as well as memorabilia and Hokies gear.
Some of the most notable items include:
• 2018 Virginia Tech Spring Game experience
• Exclusive viewing party with Hall of Fame Coach Frank Beamer
• Courtside at Cassell tickets for a men’s and women’s basketball game
• Honorary Coach of the Day with various Olympic sport teams
“The Celebration of Women’s Sports Fundraiser was created to celebrate the wonderful achievements of our female student-athletes, past and present, and enhance nutrition efforts for our women’s teams,” said Reyna Gilbert-Lowry, Senior Woman Administrator and Senior Associate Athletics Director of Student-Athlete Development.
Coca-Cola and Carilion Clinic have returned as our Title and Silver sponsors, respectively, and continue to display their commitment to women’s sports. Their financial support, along with proceeds from the auction, have allowed us to contribute approximately $80,000 to the Sports Nutrition program and foundations over the past two years.
This event is just one of the many ways we are able to highlight the positive impact of athletics on the lives of Virginia Tech student-athletes and in our community.
Attendees will enjoy a dinner from Bull & Bones with the head coaches of Virginia Tech women’s sports teams while hearing from our esteemed panel, featuring Nancy Brittle, Anne and Lynne Jones and Britney Anderson, as well as a video tribute to our female athletes’ success by HokieVision.
The Celebration of Women’s Sports event, brought to you by Coca-Cola, will begin at 6 p.m. and cost to attend is $100 per person. Please visit HokieSports.com to RSVP and for continued updates.
Funds raised from the events will go directly to support the women’s athletics programs at Virginia Tech to further the opportunities provided by the department in shaping the future of tomorrow’s female leaders.
