Corbett, Korsgaard set to open NCAA doubles competition

ATHENS, Ga. – Senior Jai Corbett and freshman Henrik Korsgaard are set to represent Virginia Tech in the 2017 NCAA Men’s Doubles Championship beginning Wednesday, May 24 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.

Corbett and Korsgaard enter the field ranked 24th in the ITA doubles standings after compiling a 7-4 record this spring. The duo will face 18th-ranked Bjorn Thomson and Connor Curry of Texas Tech. The TTU tandem is 13-6 at the one this spring.

The winning pair will advance to face the winner between two-seed and third-ranked Martin Redlicki and Evan Zhu of UCLA versus Auburn’s 21st-ranked Maxime Hinnisdaels and Conner Huertas on Thursday. This is the second consecutive season the Hokies have been represented in the doubles field after Andreas Bjerrehus and Joao Monteiro made the field last year.
