BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team will host St. Bonaventure in a 1 p.m. match on Friday, Feb. 15. On Sunday, Feb. 17, the Hokies are set to host 48th-ranked Michigan State at noon at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

The Hokies (4-2) are coming off a 4-3 win against Penn State last weekend. Virginia Tech claimed the doubles point after winning two of the three matches. In singles, Andreas Bjerrehus, Amerigo Contini and Lucas Oliveira claimed wins to secure the Tech victory.

Bjerrehus and Contini moved up to 11th in the recent ITA doubles standings after getting off to a 5-0 start. Bjerrehus is ranked 44th in singles with a 5-1 overall record, including 4-1 in the No. 1 spot. Contini holds a singles ranking of 65th and has posted an undefeated 5-0 mark (4-0 in the No. 2) in the spring season. Oliveira has also started out strong for the Hokies with a 5-1 single record and has seen time in the No. 2, 3 and 4 sports. Mauricio Antun and Aaron Gomez are 3-2 and 3-1, respectively.

The Bonnies (2-1) are coming off a 4-3 win over Colgate. St. Bonaventure’s No. 1 doubles tandem of Luis Guevara and Oscar Yanez are 8-4 on the year and have remained unbeaten in two matches during the spring season. Guevara and Yanez are also 3-0 in singles.

Michigan State (4-4) fell to No. 29 Notre Dame, 6-1, the last time out. The Spartans have a pair of wins this season over ranked opponents, having defeated No. 37 Vanderbilt and No. 40 South Carolina. Aaron Pfister holds a 97th ranking in singles and has tallied a 4-3 record in the No. 1 this season. Gijs Linders is 6-2, including 6-1 in the No. 3. John Patrick Mullane is 5-1 in the No. 4.

The Hokies will remain at home following the weekend to host rival Louisville on Sunday, Feb. 24 in a 1 p.m. match.
