Former Hokie Patrick Daciek qualifies at Peru F3 Futures

Former Virginia Tech men’s tennis player Patrick Daciek advanced through the three rounds of  the qualifying draw at the Peru F3 Futures to move in to the main draw.

In the opening round Daciek defeated Manuel Barros of Argentina, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. He followed that up with a 6-1, 6-2 decision against Columbia’s Steffen Zornosa (ITF rank 1213). In the third round match, Daciek defeated Lucas Abella (ITF rank 1801) of Brazil, 6-2, 6-1.

Daciek will face another qualifier, Dante Gennaro of Argentina in the first round of the main draw. Gennaro currently holds an ITF ranking of 1867 in singles.
