DURHAM, N.C. - The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team travels to Duke University to take on the Blue Devils in an important ACC clash on Friday.

The Hokies (2-1-0, 1-0-0 ACC) are coming off an impressive 2-1 win over No. 17 Syracuse in the team’s ACC and home opener.

After going into the second half down a goal, the Hokies rallied back in the 86th minute when senior David Clemens directed a bad goal kick to senior teammate Robert Alberti who finished the ball past an outstretched Orange keeper.

With the late goal, Tech forced the game into overtime. In the 98th minute of the match sophomore Kai Marshall picked up a loose ball and played a give-and-go with freshman Brandon Eaton. After getting the ball back, Marshall was left in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper. Marshall rocketed a shot into the upper-90 to give the Hokies the win.

The Duke Blue Devils (2-1-1, 0-1-0 ACC) are coming into the match boasting wins over Georgia Southern and Northeastern as well as a tie against Rutgers.

Junior Sean Davis and sophomore Zach Mathers pace the Blue Devils with two goals apiece while junior Nick Palodichuk has contributed one.

Blue Devil goalkeeper Alex Long has made 20 saves in four games. Long has also boasts a .833 save percentage and a 0.95 goals against average.
