The following is Kyle Renfro's take on his third and fourth days of the 2014 MLS Combine.

This morning I woke up at 8 a.m. and proceeded to take a shower and went to breakfast with my roommate at 8:30 a.m. A few hours later, I met with the strength and conditioning coaches from the Columbus Crew and FC Dallas for a recovery session. The coaches put our team through a light pool workout and partner stretching to get the soreness out of our bodies. Later in the day, we met as a team and went down to the beach to get out of the hotel, relax, and have some fun. We all walked along the beach and got in the ocean to build team chemistry, which is extremely important when you play three games in five days with players you just met. Also, we talked about our thoughts on the previous game and how we could improve as a team. At 3:00 p.m., I had an interview with the Real Salt Lake coaches. When I received the email setting up the meeting, I was elated and it confirmed that all my hard work up to this point is paying off. When the meeting ended, I went back to my hotel room until dinner. After dinner Robbie and I retired to our room and rested up for the game we have tomorrow.

I woke up knowing today provided a great opportunity of showcasing my talents to MLS coaches. I ate a healthy breakfast and lunch fueling my body with the energy it needed for the upcoming game. While the bus drove the teams to the stadium, I listened to music and prepared my mind for the game. We got there a little early and headed to the shade to escape the heat. After some time, we took the field and began to warm-up. We gathered as a team before the game and decided to play for each other and everything else would fall into place. This game didn’t start out as a fast paced encounter like the previous game. Both teams possessed the ball trying to figure each other out. The half provided both teams with a couple chances, with neither team being able to capitalize. The second half was much like to first with limited chances and the game full of possession. Personally, it was a game of communication, organization, and dealing with the ball at my feet. After the game I spoke to a reporter and was surprised to see that Alessandro Mion, a teammate of mine at Virginia Tech, came to the game. We talked for a few minutes and then I had to catch the bus back to the hotel. At the hotel, I showered up and headed to dinner. When I got back to my room, I was finally able to get off my feet, relax, stretch, and eventually fall asleep.
