LYNCHBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech golfers Trevor Cone and Scott Vincent have been named first team 2015 VaSID All-State University Division Men’s Golf team, in voting by the Virginia Sports Information Directors organization. This is the second year for Cone and the third year for Vincent on the All-State team.

Vincent, a senior from Harare, Zimbabwe, led the Hokies in scoring average and crunch time scoring this past season. He won the Puerto Rico Classic in February and had four top five finishes in his senior season. He played in four NCAA Regionals, finishing fourth at the Noblesville Regional earlier this month. He was named the ACC Player of the Month for February 2015. He finished his career as the leader on the Virginia Tech all-time scoring list.

Cone, a senior from Concord, North Carolina, was the ACC co-champion this season. He was second on the team in scoring average and crunch time scoring as a senior. He also posted four top five finishes this season, paced by his victory at the 2015 ACC Men’s Golf Championship. He is a four-year starter for the Hokies and competed in his fourth NCAA Regional this season. He was named the ACC Co-Player of the Month for April 2015. He finished his career second on the Virginia Tech all-time scoring list.

VCU’s Adam Ball was named the Player of the Year and Isaiah Logue of Liberty was named VaSID Rookie of the Year. Bowen Sargent of Virginia was named the Coach of the Year. Joining Cone, Vincent and Ball on the first team are Derek Bard and Denny McCarthy of Virginia. The second team consists of Blake Carter of Longwood, Ryan Cole of James Madison, Conner Hayden of Radford, Alex Hicks of William & Mary and Mathieu Fenasse, and Logue of Liberty.
