Cone, Vincent repeat on All-East team
Seniors both three-time honorees

SARASOTA, Fla. – Virginia Tech golfers Trevor Cone and Scott Vincent have been named to the Division I PING All-East Region team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. A total of 155 players across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2015.

This is the second consecutive season for both golfers on the East Region team. This is the third consecutive season for Vincent and Cone makes the squad for the third time, as he made the team as a freshman in 2012. Both Vincent and Cone were named to the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golf All-Conference team earlier this month.

Vincent, a senior from Harare, Zimbabwe, led the Hokies in scoring average and crunch time scoring this past season. He won the Puerto Rico Classic in February and had four top five finishes in his senior season. He played in four NCAA Regionals, finishing fourth at the Noblesville Regional earlier this month. He was named the ACC Player of the Month for February 2015.

Cone, a senior from Concord, North Carolina, was the ACC co-champion this season. He was second on the team in scoring average and crunch time scoring as a senior. He also posted four top five finishes this season, paced by his victory at the 2015 ACC Men’s Golf Championship. He is a four-year starter for the Hokies and competed in his fourth NCAA Regional earlier this month. He was named the ACC Co-Player of the Month for April 2015.

The duo are two of 24 ACC players named to one of the six teams. Both players graduated in May and are first (Vincent) and second (Cone) in career scoring average at Virginia Tech.
