Two Hokies golfers named All-ACC
Cone and Vincent earn all-conference accolades

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech golfers Trevor Cone and Scott Vincent have been named to the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golf All-Conference team. This is the second All-ACC selection for Cone, while Vincent earns the honor for the third consecutive season.

Cone, a senior from Concord, North Carolina, leads the team in scoring average and is second in crunch time average this season. He was a tri-champion at this season’s ACC Men’s Golf Championship and was a third team All-America selection last season. He is a four-year starter for the Hokies and will compete in his fourth NCAA Championship this week.

Vincent, a senior from Harare, Zimbabwe, is second on the Hokies in scoring average and leads the team in crunch time scoring this season. He was co-champion at the Puerto Rico Classic in February and finished 10th at the ACC Men’s Golf Championship in April.

Georgia Tech senior Ollie Schniederjans was named the ACC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and Wake Forest’s Will Zalatoris was selected ACC Freshman of the Year. Florida State’s Trey Jones was named the ACC Coach of the Year. Florida State placed three players on the all-conference team and the Hokies, Georgia Tech and Virginia had two players each. Louisville, North Carolina and Wake Forest had one player each make the squad.

The Hokies return to action on Thursday, as they compete in the NCAA Noblesville Regional in Noblesville, Indiana. Tech is the seventh seed in the event.
