Virginia Tech’s Bryce Chalkley and Mikey Moyers are tied for 11^th place after two rounds at the 2013 State Open of Virginia. The tournament is being played at the par 71, 7,026 Independence Golf Club in Midlothian, Va.

Chalkley, a rising senior from Richmond, Va., and Moyers, who completed his eligibility in the spring, are at one-under-par 141. Moyers shot a one-under-par 70 on Friday, while Chalkley shot an-even-par 71 in the second round. The duo trails leader Jay Woodson by eight strokes.

Moyers, starting from the 10^th tee on Friday, was one-over at the turn, but birdied the second and fourth holes to post his one-under-par score. Chalkley, who also started on the 10^th hole on Friday, carded two bogeys and two birdies in his even-par round.

Incoming freshman Joey Lane missed the cut by one stroke. He shot a two-over-par 73 on Friday. Former Tech golfer Aaron Eckstein also missed the cut with a score of 152.

Moyers will tee off at 8:50 a.m., on Saturday and is grouped with PGA professionals Mike Gooden and Ricky Touma. Chalkley will be in the next group out, at 9 a.m., along with PGA professional Faber Jameson and UVa golfer Ji Soo Park.
