Men's Golf: 2014 NCAAs

Play was suspended due to lightning at 6:45 p.m. CT tonight. All Hokies had played at least six holes. Play was called for the night about 7:30 p.m. The plan as of right now is to resume the round at 7:30 a.m. and there should be enough time to complete the round before the second wave goes out for a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

There was never actually any rain on the course and all the weather looked to be out to the west, but there is a threshold of how close lightning is to the course and when a strike happens in that circle, play is halted.

Trevor Cone is 3-under par for his eight holes today and has jumped into the top 30 individually. He is currently tied for 21st overall. The Hokies are 2-over par for the round, but have moved up to a tied for 28th. But still a lot of golf to be played.

We hope to have an interview with Coach Hardwick later tonight. Also, there will be a brief wrap-up of the day on Hokiesports.com
