The End of the Practice Round Blog
Men's Golf: 2014 NCAAs

The Hokies are on the final holes of the practice round of the NCAA Championship. Tech got in seven holes before a brief storm blew through. Not much rain, if any at all, but enough lightning in the area to get the golfers off the course.

The delay lasted about 45 minutes, so we are a little behind schedule. The coaches’ meeting is still scheduled at 4 p.m. CT, but might have to be pushed back a few minutes. Then it’s back to the hotel, a quick shower and off to the Kansas Cosmosphere for the NCAA Banquet. That usually doesn’t last long, as the teams need to turn in early tonight for tomorrow’s first round.

The Hokies’ day won’t have to start that early, as Tech will tee off with Washington and Illinois from the 10th tee, beginning at 1:10 p.m. CT. The first tee time is at 7 a.m., bright and early Friday morning.

We hope everyone has seen the article on Hokiesports.com about Bryce, Trevor and Scott being named All-East Region. What a great accomplishment for the young men.

We’ll have a photo gallery this evening, as well as an interview with Coach Hardwick, previewing the opening round on Friday. We also hope to have a few photos from the Cosmosphere, as well.
