The New Tee Time Blog
Men's Golf: 2014 NCAAs

Just a quick update on tee times here at the NCAA Auburn Regional. Due to the heavy rains Wednesday and Thursday morning, tee times have now been pushed back to 10 a.m. CT. Originally set at 8 a.m., times were moved to 9 a.m., Wednesday evening, before going to 10 a.m., early today. Crews have been hard at work on the course all morning.

The Hokies will now head to the Auburn University Club in time for the opening of the practice range and greens at 9 a.m. Freshman Joey Lane, making his NCAA debut, will be first of for Tech. The Hokies are grouped with top national seed Alabama and No. 3 seed Texas. An interesting note that Alabama and Texas have won the last two NCAA Championships.

Current weather in Auburn at 8 a.m. is cloudy and 52 degrees. No more rain is expected today, although there could be a lingering shower in the area. The high today is only expected to hit the mid 60s, but the conditions are expected to clear, with Northwest winds of 15 miles per hour. Highs are expected in the low to mid 70s on Friday and Saturday, with little chance of precipitation.

We’ll have more here later in the day and more frequent updates on Twitter at @VT_MGolf. Also, a photo gallery, video and day one story will be posted at the end of the round on hokiesports.com.
